The fate of The Hell House [Mar. 18th, 2007|09:13 pm]
Maryland Urban Exploration

[mood |sadsad]

I don't know if this has been posted before. Or not. So yeah. Or anyone has heard of this.

But The Hell House is no more. It's no longer standing. They tore it down earlier last year. I went there on News Year Eve. And got some pictures. So I got a chance to see it but I'm sad now it's gone. ;_;

There's the link to the story. Very sad.

Trying to figure out how to break into... [Feb. 1st, 2007|02:23 pm]
Maryland Urban Exploration

[mood |curiouscurious]
[music |Seether - Your Bore]

...Urban Exploration. I live in Washington, DC which is an area that should be ripe with UE possibilities, and the idea greatly appeals to me, but I really have no idea where to go, or how to get started. Does anyone know of good areas to go to, any groups that I could contact, or any resources I could use to try to get started?

Sorry for the newbie post. Feel free to delete this post if it's inappropiate.

Are there any places in Maryland that have open-mike nights for amateur comedians, poets, and the like?

Forgotten Links [Sep. 1st, 2006|07:44 am]
Maryland Urban Exploration

Sorry to do this... but today i am spamming about my new web page..

the page it's self does not have any pictures (when i was actively exploring i never thought of bringing a camera with me... and now i just find my self to busy to do any new explorations)

But what the page is, is a link page to 500+ other urban exploration webpages! Recently i updated the layout of the website and bought hosting for it. I have a fourm set up so people can submit new links.

The hospital / asylum part of the page needs some updating as there are some dead links (this will be fixed soon)

Mod Post! [Jan. 9th, 2006|12:14 am]

Anybody interested in becoming the moderator for this community should email me at nama2281 AT aol.com with a subject line "MD UE MOD" (so it won't get caught in the spam folder). If you use the email on the user info, your message won't get to me.

I need someone with experience moderating or is not afraid to learn everything on their own since I don't have the time to offer help (trust me, it's self explanatory and a piece of cake!).

I guess it goes to the first person I hear from.

Thanks & Happy UE-ing!

Ok, here's the low down. I got this awsome book & I was reading about the legendary "Hell House." My dad told me to get directions to the building. So I did, two sets of them. One to Ellicott City then from the city to the road. =/ Hopefully we'll be able to go see it & take a camera with me. ^^; Just thought you like to know about this. If I do bring a camera, execpt to see pictures of it. ^^

hey! I am new to this forum, I was just wondering if anybody has read Make It Happen by Kevin Liles (who is from Baltimore). He went from intern to president of Def Jam in 9 years. It is an amazing rags-to-riches story and he is from the area....

Does anybody have any photos of the "Crownsville State Hospital?" My step-mother's friend Miss. Nina told me about it. I haven't gone looking for any sites of it yet, but I just wondered if anybody has any photos of inside it. Thanks if anybody helps.
